Hello,
We would first off like to begin by thanking you for taking the time to get to know us a little more. We will never fully understand what you are feeling or going through at this time. One thing we can say is that we pray for you daily! We pray that God gives you peace and comfort during this time in your life! Our dream has always been to build a family together. We cannot wait to begin this journey and thankful that we are able to have this opportunity and blessing!
Our names are Eric and Brittany Dorton. We were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend on October 19, 2009. Didn’t take us long to see how much we had in common and how we loved each other’s company. Eric realized that he couldn’t let Brittany go and asked her to marry him 9 months later. We were married on April 2, 2011. Our relationship and marriage is built around God, love, faith, and forgiveness. We hope to instill these values in our children as well. Soon after getting married, we began the journey of starting a family. After a little over a year, we were able to get pregnant with a precious child, which ended shortly in a miscarriage. Two more years of infertility led us to where we are today. We are grateful for the path that God has led us down. We are so thankful and feel blessed to be able to bring a child into our home to love and cherish!
Eric graduated from Ball State University (chirp, chirp) in 2008 and Brittany graduated from Pensacola Christian College in 2007, both with Bachelors of Science in nursing degrees. Brittany continued her education and obtained her Master’s in nursing education from Wester Governor’s University in 2013. We both greatly enjoy our jobs, taking care of people, and taking pride in our work. We are fortunate enough to work at the same local hospital, close to home. When not working, we both enjoy spending time with our family and friends, gardening (in the
summer), and traveling.
We live in a lovely and safe neighborhood that is close to anything we need or would want to do. We have lived in our home, since the day we were married. We are both fortunate enough to have very loving families that live close to us! Not only do we have supportive families, but also we have been blessed with a very close church “family”. They are all on this journey together with us, and for that we cannot be more grateful!
Thank you once again for taking the time to get to know us. Thank you for making this courageous and brave decision!
Sincerely,
Eric and Brittany Dorton
